I'm just a fangirl who happens to be pickier than most when it comes to performances. Before I became a professional KPop fangirl, I was (and still am) a huge musical theatre nut. From quite a young age I became acquainted with the ins and outs of vocal technique, and I could spot an alto masquerading as a soprano from a mile away. With such a snooty attitude about vocal ability, it's a wonder I even gave KPop a chance considering the average idol's singing ability. But I'm here for the pretty, and I'm going to stay for the pretty; even if the pretty sometimes can't sing for peanuts.
I'll watch pretty much anyone whose song/concept/pretty member catches my attention, and I'm dedicated like you wouldn't believe. I'll watch every single performance until I cannot stand the song anymore. (This is what you can do when you don't have school/homework to worry about kids.) Before I started this blog I would rant to my fellow KPop obsessed friends about the weekly performances, but since they have all gone off and gotten lives, I needed to let out the spazzing somehow.
So what can you expect from this blog? Reviews every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday consisting of this fangirl's thoughts about the idol groups' performances. And every so often, a review about a music video or an album. It won't be all rainbows and unicorns here though, if I don't like something I'll say so. And I have some very unpopular opinions. But rest assured all you other fangirls, I don't mean anything I say as a personal attack on your beloved bias. Just because I don't like something doesn't mean I'm going to sign up for an anti-fan cafe and start writing nasty messages. So don't go sending me hate mail, mmkay? Let's all be big boys and girls around here.
And if you want to know just how many KPop fandoms I'm in, here's a list of the groups/artists that I follow. You sitting down? This is going to take a while. Girls' Generation (SNSD), Infinite, Shinhwa, Secret, Sistar, Teen Top, B1A4, BoM, Block B, miss A, After School, SS501, Piggy Dolls, Supernova, U-Kiss, Lyn, Kara, X5, IU, The Boss (D-NA), Brian, T-ara, Seo Inguk, N-Train, Boyfriend, Super Junior, Beast, MBLAQ, Chocolat, ZE:A, Girl's Day - and those are just the ones I can remember off the top of my head.
There are some people who say that there is an oversaturation of idol groups on the market right now, and while this is true, it doesn't mean that I dislike it. As a newcomer to KPop myself - I was only initiated by late 2009 - I find myself falling in love with new groups much more readily than the older ones. Ultimately I want to introduce people to the newer groups and help the underrated ones get the exposure they deserve.
Enjoy the ramblings :)
